The doctors at the Park Practice are exclusively NHS General Practitioners. However, there are a number of patient services that are not covered by the NHS and patients are charged for them at the current recommended rates. These include private sick notes, insurance forms, holiday cancellation forms, medical reports, fitness to travel certificates, private prescriptions, passport signing and some vaccination services.
Should you require a special examination or report for insurance, driving, employment or for other reasons, this can be arranged through reception. Our fees for these services, which are in line with BMA approved national guidelines, are available from reception. To save embarrassment over payment for such services please enquire at reception about the current cost of the service before booking.
The NHS has strict regulations about who can be treated on the NHS. If you or a relative or friend live abroad, are visiting this country and are not entitled to NHS care, we will see you privately on a temporary basis. You will be charged a fee for each consultation. Our fees are in line with BMA approved national guidelines and are displayed in the surgery.
If you need to be referred for a specialist opinion and wish to be seen privately, we will make a private referral and will not charge you for this. You will need to collect the referral letter from reception and take it with you to your appointment. You will normally be asked to contact the hospital yourself and make an appropriate appointment. If you need us to complete a claim form for your private medical insurance company, there will be an administrative charge for doing so.
